I started teaching in Wicomico County at Wicomico High School, starting in the fall of 1994. I've taught Ancient Civilizations, AP Psychology, U.S. History, Modern World History and Consumer Economics in Social Studies, and also English 9, 10 and 11. I was the Wi-Hi Teacher of the year for 2015-16 and Wicomico County High School Finalist for Teacher of the Year for 2016-17. And I was Mardela's Teacher of the Month for April 2017 and November 2019. Thanks, Warriors!
From 2021-2023, I served as one of Wicomico County's technology coaches for teachers, helping teachers use technology to better serve students learning. The 2023-24 school year will be my first teaching Secondary Social Studies for the Wicomico County Blended Virtual Program. Why? Because it's the first year of secondary live classes. 😊 I'm a graduate of the College of Journalism of the University of Maryland (Fear the Turtle!), earned credits at the University of Maryland - Eastern Shore (#HawkPride) to be accredited as a teacher, and earned a Master's degree in Education from Salisbury University (Go Gulls!). I've been married for more than three decades and we have two kids - a daughter who's a grad student at The Ohio State University and a son who's attending UMBC. We also have an adorable shelter-rescue chiweenie. I am an assistant wrestling coach at Parkside High School and a volunteer assistant for Mardela JV Softball. I'm a proud member of NEA, MSEA and WCEA. |
